The Boston Great War Commemoration Society
As the hundredth anniversary of the start of The Great War approached, it seemed only natural that Boston should remember it in a fit and proper manner.
A dedicated core of eight local history enthusiasts joined together with the aim of creating a commemorative event for the Town.
It was quite apparent that there was a lot of public interest but no official support at a local level. After a successful bid for funding from The Heritage Lottery Fund, the event can now take place, we have our own website and will continue to build upon this over the next year.
If one of your family was involved in The Great War and you have a story to tell, we would love to hear from you.
Please use our online contact form to email us.
If you would like to speak with one of the organisers or become involved in the project, please call:

Many local men from the Boston area went to fight for their Country in The Great War.
In the early days, some enlisted of their own free choice and embarked full of enthusiasm, others were conscripted but none were fully aware of the hell into which they were being plunged.
The Boston Great War Commemoration Society website pays homage to the ones who were never to return and those who did but whose life had been irrevocably changed.
